In this class went over Ideal Gases and how the volume, energy, and work done by gases. Overall this was a very short day. There was a lot of talking and not that much examples. Pictures of this day is very scarse.
Here we had to predict what would happen when a baloon is heated up inside a closed area. We predicted that it will increase. Very straight forward prediction; however in Mason's class you enver know.
Here is a calculation of the work don by a heated bar. It is very small compared to the the work that the surrending does to the bar.
Here we calculated the velocity with the energy that is in a ideal gas with is 3/2NKT. It was very simple when you have the engery of the ideal gas. Otherwise it was not so easy.
This is the work on gass that changes with respect to the volume and temperature.
This was a experiment were we try to super charge a cotton ball to ignite it. It is an adiabatic proccess makeing the final temperature very high. You will see calculation below.
This is the equation of the heat inside the contraption. We alreayd cacluated our final temperature in the picture above but i feel like we were off. I feel that way because the temp did not seem high enough. The equation that we use was for adabatic processes since the all reaction happen very fast.
